November 2013: cruising budget

It all evens out. An expensive month followed by a relatively affordable month followed by an expensive month.

Before leaving Bahia del Sol we filled up our tanks with diesel (apparently it gets more expensive as we move farther south and we thought we’d take advantage of the reasonable prices at Bahia del Sol).

The Entertainment budget was a lot fatter than usual because eating out and drinking in Costa Rica is not cheap and we ate out a fair amount in both Playa del Coco and Tamarindo.

Our Shopping budget is a bit high because a fellow cruiser brought us back some goodies from her trip to the US, including 5200 marine adhesive and grommets.

The Adventure category includes the cost of checking out of El Salvador as well as the cost of surf lessons in Tamarindo!

Otherwise it’s all pretty straight forward!

We are Jeff and Harmony, a couple of Pacific Northwestern homebodies (hogareños) who decided to take our home, a 30 foot Nightingale sailboat named Serenity, and our fat lovable cat, on an adventure. We cruised around Mexico, Central America and the Pacific Ocean for about 3 years until the Pacific Northwest beckoned us back home.
